JKSRTC starts bus service from Anantnag to Lakhanpur.   The Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC) has started 32 seater bus services from Anantnag to Lakhanpur via Jammu. The bus is scheduled to operate on every alternate day from Anantnag to Lakhanpur and will have comfortable space for 32 passengers. Meanwhile the general public is being informed that all those who are interested  to use the services  of this bus for their movement to Jammu or outside the UT may contact the office of the Depot Manager JKSRTC Anantnag or may call on phone no 8899052127.

CBSE class 10th & 12th exam dates announced

‘CBSE Board exam will be held between May 4 and June 10 CBSE Board exam will begin from May 4 and conclude till June 10. Results will be declared by July 15. Practical exams will begin from March 1. Earlier this month, Union Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had clarified that there is no possibility of conducting the board examination till February and the dates regarding the same will be decided only after analysing the situation of pandemic in states. He had also confirmed that board examination will be held in offline mode only, as always.

Reliance Jio removes IUC charges, free voice calls to all networks starting Jan 1, 2021

Reliance Jio has announced that it will offer free voice calls to any network starting January 1, 2021. The telecom giant has finally removed Interconnect Usage Charges (IUC), which means that Jio users now won’t need to worry about IUC minutes. Jio introduced new prepaid plans with IUC minutes at the end of 2019. The concept of IUC minutes was added after the Supreme Court delivered its verdict on the case of Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR). Now, TRAI will be implementing the ‘Bill and Keep’ regime in the country from January 1, 2021, which will end IUC for all domestic voice calls. “Commitment to revert off-net domestic voice-call charges to zero, as soon as IUC charges are abolished, Jio will once again make all off-net domestic voice calls free, starting 1st January 2021. JKBOSE: 10TH, 12TH CLASS RESULTS NOT BEFORE MARCH || CHECK HERE

 The results of class 10th and 12th annual examination will not be declared before March, an official at JK Board of School Education (BOSE) said on Monday.Talking to Greater Kashmir, Chairperson JKBOSE Veena Pandita said the evalu- ation of answer scripts was started few days ago and the process will take over two months to complete. This year it won’t be possible to have all the evaluators in one hall due to covid19 SoPs, she said, adding that since they call evaluators in groups it will take time to complete the process. The examination of class 10th and 12th students was held from second week of November in Valley as well in winter zones of Jammu division.As per the official figures, around 106465 students including 74465 from Valley and 32000 from Jammu winter zones had registered for class 10th exams. The date of CBSE board examinations for 2021 will be announced on 31st of this month. In a tweet, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said he will announce the date for CBSE board exams on the 31st of December.   Every year, the Central Board of Secondary Education conducts board exams in the month of February and March and release the datesheet in November. However, this year, due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the board exams timetable has been delayed.    Mr Pokhriyal had recently informed that the CBSE board exams will be conducted after February and in offline mode.

Srinagar: There was slight improvement in cold conditions in Kashmir as the minimum temperature rose across the valley on Thursday, even as the MET Office forecast the possibility of light snow over two days from Saturday.The night temperature marked an improvement but continued to settle below the freezing point, MET officials said. The weather has remained dry and cold across Kashmir since the snowfall on December 12, with the night temperature staying several degrees below the freezing point, they said. The officials said Srinagar the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir recorded a low of minus 3.8 degrees Celsius up from the previous night’s minus 5 degrees Celsius. Govt Orders Winter Vacations From Dec 21 To Feb 28; Online Classes To Continue

The authorities on Friday ordered winter vacation in all the Government Educational Institutions including recognized Private Schools upto Higher Secondary Level functioning in the Kashmir Division and winter zone of Jammu Division from December 21 till February 28. However, as per order issued by B.K Singh, Administrative Secretary School education department , online classes for all classes shall be held by strictly adhering the SOPs of Covd-19 issued by the Government from time to time.  “ It is hereby ordered that all the Government Educational Institutions including recognized Private Schools upto Higher Secondary Level functioning in the Kashmir Division and winter zone of Jammu Division shall observe winter vacation from 21 of December, 2020 to 28 of February, 2021,” reads the order, a copy of which lies .
